Dive in to discover how she finds balance and joy, one sip of matcha at a time.

Can you share a bit about your daily wellness routine?

I have a 7 month old and so it’s changed quite significantly but every morning my partner will take him for an hour after I’ve played and fed him.
I will either do a 20 min run which makes me feel amazing even though it’s short. Or I’ll walk to my local yoga studio for a class.

I try to have a hot bath in the evening if the sleeping baby permits.

I also eat vegetables with every meal- I don’t feel satiated unless I have done so.

What are some rituals or habits that help you stay balanced and energized?

I drink water and moisturize a lot ( LA is dry). I think that helps with energy
I used to have a much more involved habits pre-baby -hiking, Korean spa, steam rooms, cold plunges

I make sure I do a couple of social things a week. Having a baby can be quite prohibitive but I make a point to reconnect with friends even if it’s not always convenient because it reinvigorates me.

What first drew you to matcha, and how has it become part of your routine?

I am a coffee fiend but obviously, that got restricted during pregnancy.

I found that matcha was a perfect afternoon pick-me-up. I only drink something milky in the afternoon or evening and I find matcha mid-afternoon is perfect - earthy and not too sweet ( although I do often add a teaspoon of honey or date syrup:)

What’s your favorite way to prepare HIKARI matcha? Do you have any unique recipes?

I prepare my matcha with 1/2 hot water, 1/2 cashew or almond milk, and a teaspoon of date syrup- I like to really froth up the milk and I usually enjoy with a bite of a cookie or dark chocolate as an afternoon pick-me-up.

Matcha has a rich cultural history. What does it mean to you personally?

I think I first tried matcha in Tokyo and loved it. However, my partner introduced me to it as a regular part of my routine. He doesn’t drink coffee and is a food fanatic ( owns a restaurant in Los Angeles ). We would make regular trips to the Japanese supermarket and that’s where we would start purchasing matcha as part of our routine

How does HIKARI matcha fit into your lifestyle?

Hikari matcha fits into my routine as a luxurious, beautiful afternoon treat that feels nourishing.

If you could enjoy a matcha moment anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

If I could enjoy matcha anywhere it would actually be an iced matcha latte ( a break from my regular) on Limonari beach which is located on Skopelos island- my favorite place in Greece!
